Consider pet rescue!

Buster before being adopted to a happy homeEvery year millions of animals are euthanized in shelters.  While some are strays, many are given up by owners who can no longer take care of them.  Some are mutts, some are purebred, some puppies, others adults.  The choices are endless.  With so many needing help, why not consider adoption for your next pet?

Many rescue groups in the U.S. focus on just one breed of dog at a time, so if there's a particular type you are looking for, consider finding a local rescue group for the breed you like.  You may be able to adopt or even help foster other needy animals.

People might think foster animals are "too much work" or "too difficult," but often, with some careful training and attention, these pets will blossom.  It's an incredible reward to gain their love and share it for the rest of your lives together!
