Meet Basil, our first pet in the spotlight!  Basil loves drinking from the tap, particularly the tub faucet, since, as an old guy of 16, he can't jump up on many counters to reach kitchen faucets these days.

During year 3 of the diet Basil has been on since age 7, he ate a dishrag with a small amount of butter on it, necessitating a trip to the vet to ensure his health and safety.  Thankfully, everything came out OK.

Basil has had some dental issues and would love to tell you to get regular dental checkups for your cats.  Since Basil didn't get any dental work done until age 10, and since he has tough cat genetics, he lost quite a few teeth.  That doesn't stop him from trying to eat everything in sight, though.

We love Basil because he is a handsome cat, but we are always careful handling him since he can be a bit "fussy."  Hats off to Basil, October's Patient of the Month!
